As I reflected back on 2008, I really didn't want to make any New Years "resolutions" for 2009. I really don't like how you try to come up with a list that pretty much sounds same from year to year... Everyone knows the things that they need to improve upon. Why is it that we really only pay attention when the year ends? Why not change those things in the middle of the year? Or in Novmber?
Then, one day I was reading a blog. I really wish I could remember it, but it was one of those endless surfing days. This blog was saying instead of coming up with a bunch of New Years resolutions, pick a word that you will work on.
Examples:
Health
Love
Patience
Food
Sex
Relationships
Money
Beautiful
Work
You get the point... Pick a word that will help you focus on what you need to imporve all year long. What a brillant idea!!!! I thought about it for a few days and my word for 2009 is... Grace
It can really help any situation:
Here is what Grace has given me for this the year so far....
Grace - When the gym is full and I have to wait.
Grace - When my hair straightener is up with the teens.
Grace - When driving with my first child with her driving temps.
Grace - When new puppy, Harley falls asleep on my lap & makes cute little noises.
Grace - When the kids mess up my DVR.
Grace - When Mr. P kicks my ass on the WII, so I freeze my ass.
Grace - When it keeps snowing and snowing and snowing and snowing..
Grace - When I drop a stitch, then do it again, then do it again.. #$%@
Grace - When I accidentally warm the car up for 2 hours.
Grace - Shopping with 7 kids trying to figure out what to buy with their gift cards for Christmas.
Grace & Happy New Year!

Hey, Ms. Amy...
So, no resolutions, huh? That in itself sounds like a resolution to me. Anyway, good idea on the word of the year. So far, so good!
